With 30 years of practice, working with over 40,000 people using natural methods, and conducting monthly training seminars to over 2,500 doctors and healthcare practitioners, Dr. Berg has created a very successful online nutritional store that supports nutrition and the healthy version of the ketogenic diet (Healthy Keto).

THE CHALLENGE

Dr. Berg's team approached DEMAND when their online nutritional store was hosted on Magento Enterprise. Their primary frustration with the platform was that nearly every website update or feature required custom development. This dependency relied on an excessive amount of IT and development support daily just to accomplish tasks that the content and merchandising team should have been able to manage independently. After consulting with DEMAND, it became clear that most of the desired functionality was either available out of the box with Shopify Plus, offered as an app in the Shopify App Store, or could be quickly built by DEMAND.


They chose to replatform to Shopify Plus to make it easier for their team to do what they do best... running their business... and not letting their website run them.

DEMAND kicked off the project with the goal of reducing ongoing platform and 3rd party app support costs. They leveraged the Shopify Plus platform to bring forward all the functionality the Dr. Berg team wanted to keep from their old site, but did it in a way that made it easier for the Dr. Berg team to merchandise and create content without development support.

YOTPO SUBSCRIPTIONS

A HUGE part of Dr. Berg's business model involves subscriptions, so a great subscription platform was required.

Yotpo Subscriptions was chosen to drive Dr. Berg's "Subscribe and Save" feature and increase their recurring revenue! This platform has a great user experience, and the customer service agents love it. Yotpo also ties in their Reviews, Marketing and Subscription apps together to make it a seamless experience.

DEMAND ONE THEME

Right from the start, Dr. Berg's creative team was able to use the DemandOne theme to achieve the look and feel they envisioned, with nearly everything available out of the box. From search filters to mega menus, the theme provided almost all the sections they needed to build everything in-house. By reducing setup time and minimizing the need for custom development, DEMAND successfully launched the site on schedule, within budget, and without a single change order!

ALGOLIA SEARCH + BAZAARVOICE REVIEWS

Integrating Algolia for its outstanding search capabilities while utilizing Bazaarvoice for its reviews engine introduced additional complexities, as the search results needed to include Bazaarvoice reviews. DEMAND handled the customizations, ensuring the integrations performed flawlessly.

VENDOR INTEGRATIONS

DEMAND customized the Dr. Berg checkout using Shopify's checkout extensibility, the PDP and other pages were also customized, but the bulk of the heavy lifting was done via vendor integrations.

CONCLUSION
